Known as "Little Norway," Poulsbo was settled in 1892 by Norwegian loggers, farmers and fishermen who likened the fjord-cut landscape to their homeland. The town's architecture and flair all reflects this heritage.
Here you can meander down Front Street with a variety of quaint and colorful shops offering everything from Scandinavian gifts to fine art, fashion, antiques and much more. After your stroll, you can enjoy delectibles such as handmade European chocolates, baked goods, fresh waffle cones, smoked salmon or gourmet coffee from the many restaurants and cafes.
If you are looking for outdoor actvities, there is no shortage of those. There are kayaks and other boats available for rent to explore scenic Liberty Bay, take a walking tour of the town, or relax along the boardwalk and watch for seals, herons, commorants and eagles.
